PERSONAL.
Mr J. D. Mcßrearty, manager of the State Theatre, Timaru, and formerly of Palmerston North, has received word of his transfer to Gisborne. Christchurch visitors to Palmerston North for the second annual Christ’s College ''Old Boys’ Association dinner will include Messrs R. J. Richards (headmaster of Christ’s College), D. S. Thomas (president of the association), D. S. Murchison, A. E. Flower, E. R. Webb, L. J. Le Cren and S. P. Godfrey. Mr J. C. Denniston (Wanganui) and Mr H. S. Weston (New Plymouth) are expected to stay in Palmerston North for the dinner. Mr John Johnson, M.A., of the Canterbury College staff, has left for the United States, where he will spend six months studying adult education as the holder of a Carnegie Corporation travelling grant. He is accompanied by his wife, Mrs Dorothy Johnson, B.H. Sc., who intends to study phases of home economics and extension work. They will both he representatives of New Zealand at the World Conference of Friends near Philadelphia in September.
