YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. Dull conditions ruled in the Wellington stock and share markets yesterday, and trading was inactive. Government loans continued in good demand at a shade under lato rates, hut no actual sales were recorded. Little interest was shown in bank shares, the only buying offer being 44s ?d lor New Zealand*. Financial and pastoral issues wore quietly steady. New Zealand Insurance were firm at 62s 9d, no sellers, and South, British were wanted at 93s 3d. Gear Meat were weak at 15s 9d, sellers 16s 3d, and N.Z. Refrigerating had unsupported buyers at 18s lid. Industrial issues were generally dull. Staples sold yesterdaty at 53s 6d, and Dominion Breweries were in firm demand at 445. ‘Consolidated Brick wore a little firmer on business at 8s 3d. Broken Hill Proprietary sold at 82s, buyers staying in at 81s 3d, and sellers offering at 81s 9d. British Tobacco wore weak, at 49s 3d, cum. div., sellers asking 50s 3d. YESTERDAY’S QUOTATIONS.
