LONDON MARKET FIRM. According to information supplied by the Primary Products Maikcting Department to the Dairy Board, the London butter market was firm on Friday, closing quotations (with those for the previous week in parentheses) being:— Now Zealand.—Salted, iORs (108 s to 109 s; a year ago, 102 sto 103 s); unsalted. 109 s to 110 s (109 s to 110 s; 'a year ago, 103 s to 104 s). Australian. —Salted, 107 s (107 sto 108 s); unsaltod, 107 sto 108 s (108 s). South African. —105 sto 106 s ( -). Danish.—93s, f.0.b.; 114 s spot (90s; 110 s). Dutch. —Unsalted, 103 s to 104 s, ex. 107 s (slow), (103 s to 105s)’. Deliveries of New Zealand butter last week were 2235 tons, and tho quantity in store was 7215 tons, as against 4631 tons a year ago. Australian butter in store was 5748 tons, as against 3381 tons a year ago. The Imperial Economic Committee estimates all stocks of butter in store at 720,316 boxes, as compared with 642,123 boxes a year ago. The retail price of New Zealand butter in London is unchanged at Is Id, and Danish at Is Id to Is 2d a lb. The cheese market closed quiet, quotations being as follow: — New Zealand.—White, 74s to 74s 6d (73s 6d; a year ago, 58s); coloured, 73s 6d to 74s (72s 6d to 73s fed: a year ago, 565). Australian.—White, 71s to 73s (70s to 725)); coloured, 71s to 72s 6d (70s to 725).) Canadian. —White, 77s to 79s (76s to 78s); coloured, 77s to 78s (76s to 78s)). The quantity of New Zealand cheese in store in London is 94,835 crates, as against 92,115 crates a year ago. Canadian chceso in store totals 55,373 boxes, as against 5fe,719 boxes a year ago. Tho retail price of New Zealand cheese in London is unchanged at Bd, and elsewhere is 9d a lb.
