Sanson, of Parewanui, were tendered a farewell evening on Wednesday in “Apa House,” under the auspices of the Parewanui School Committee. There was a large attendance of parents and friends, including many from Sanson, Rongotca, and other parte of the district. Mr J. Montgomerie made the presentation, handing to Mrs Sanson a handsome clock, and wishing Air and Airs Sanson health and happiness. AJr Alontgomcrie spoke of the valuable work done by Mr and Airs Sanson on the school committee, and of their interest in all matters of benefit to the district. The evoning was spent in dancing and cardplaying/ and the music was supplied by Mrs Butler (Sanson) and Mr Reweti. A Alonte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Z. Montgomerie and Air J. _ Klalt, and a statue dance by Air and Airs Butler (Sanson). At cards, Mrs G. Abraham and Mr G. Cropland proved the winners. Mr Harold Hannah, the elder son of Air and Mrs G. H. Hannah, of Bulls, was amongst, the successful candidates at the recent entrance examinations for the Royal Navy. A meeting of Lodge Roseneath Rcbekah was held on Friday evening. Sister Al. Kearney, N.G., presiding over a good attendance. It was resolved to donate a guinea to the King George V Alemorial Fund. A certificate of P.N.G. was piesented to Airs J. 11. Ellery in recognition of her valued work, in forming the original lodge here.
