CHINESE APPEAL.
BRITAIN AND JAPAN. LONDON, - May .30. The Times Hong Kong correspondent says that several Hong Kong Chinese newspapers publish an identical leader appealing to Britain not to enter into negotiations with Japan. It is asserted that an Anglo-Japanese rapprochement would damage SinoBritish amity, bring Britain into conflict with Russia, estrange Empire sentiment and affect Britain’s security in trade. “China,” the article says, “will maintain her sovreignty at all costs.”
