The following were also present:—Messrs W. Woodmore, E. White, E. N. Davis, H. W. Scott, C. Lane, H. Lane, W. Procter, and W. R. Procter (secretary). A letter was received from a property owner at Awapuni complaining about the destructiveness of pukeko on property adjoining the Awapuni sanctuary. The owner stated that it is im-, possible to keep any tame ducks owing to the pukeko picking their eyes out, irhile the latter were also very destructive in the garden. It was decided to forward the complaint to the Wellington Council and recommend that it get in touch with the Internal Affairs Department to see what can be done in the matter.
The secretary was instructed to obtain from Wellington a revised list of persons holding honorary rangers’ warrants.
It was reported to the meeting that ducks were very plentiful and provided the weather is satisfactory good bags would be obtained.
