FAREWELL PARTY.

A farewell party was given by Mrs C. B. McClure to Mrs L. J. Wild, in the assembly hall at the Agricultural

High School, on Saturday afternoon. Airs Wild leaves shortly for America and England with Mr Wild, principal of the Feilding Agricultural High School. Afternoon tea was served on a long table to which tall epergnes of autumn-tinted flowers and lovely shaded leaves gave a charming finish. A musical competition provided an interesting diversion and Aliss Dora Wild proved tho winner, Airs H. V. Davies gaining second prize. A Grecian dance by a bevy of High School girls in Grecian dress (Alisses P. Baker, N. Sandbrook, J. Sandbrook, B. Little, S. Pearpoint, B. Pearpoint, P. Symons, and E. Short) added considerably to the pleasure, as also did songs by "Airs John Graham and by Airs W. A. Saridiland, and pianoforte items by tho latter.

At an opportune moment tho hostess presented All’s Wild with a bouquet of shaded pink and crimson flowers. Ahisical honours were given for the guest of honour.

Airs AlcClure was wearing a model robe of sapphire blue French mariette a.nd spider web lace fashioned with capo sleeves, also a picture hat to match and a smoke blue fox fur; and Airs Wild wore a frock of delphinium blue marocaiu finished with a crimson posy, a. blue hat trimmed with similar flowers, and a fox stole.
