(From Our Own Correspondent.) RONGOTEA. April 10. The final of the To Kawau tennis mixed doubles championship wa6 played on Saturday on the Cranarvon grass courts between W. Gloyn and Miss M. Scott and R. Gloyn and Miss R. Hill. After an excellent match, W. Gloyn and Miss Scottwere successful, 6 —l, 2 —6, 64. W. Gloyn s form recently has been superb, and it was expected that if Miss Scott was also at. her best the match would be a hard one, which proved to be. the ease. R. Gloyn and Miss Hill played their best tennis m the second set, which they won by 6--Z. It is doubtful whether R. Gloyn has played better tennis against such good opponents this season, his overhead work was excclloTl,c quarterly meeting of officials of the Samon-Rongotoa circuit of the Methodist Church was held on Friday evening at Kongotea. Rev. U. E. Young people's day was to be held at Sanson in June and at Rongotca and Tnikorea a week later. Mrs E. M. Smith gave her impressions of the recent conference held at Auckland. A discussion at. some length took place on proposals from headquarters to fittingly celebrate in 1938 the bi-centenary of the rise of Methodism, in such a way as to recapture the vitality and enthusiasm of the founders. The matter will be further considered. Following the Benediction, the meting closed with the serving of refreshments by the ladies, for which they were thanked bv the minister.
