FISHERMAN’S DEATH.
MYSTERIOUS CIR CUMSTAN CES. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 29. A fisherman, Jakov Kavalinivich, aged 58, of Helensville, whose launch was discovered in the upper reaches of the Kaipara Harbour last Thursday with nobody aboard, was found drowned in the harbour, his body being located by a large search party. Kavalinovicli was a widower with four young children. In company with another fisherman, 0. W. Lodge, Kavalinovich left Helensvillo on Wednesday of last week and went to Kaipara Harbour on Lodge’s launch. Kavalinovich then transferred to his own launch, which was at anchor in the harbour, and the two men fished from their respective launches. On Wednesday night a heavy fog came down and on Thursday morning Lodge decided to return to Helensville. He called out to his companion telling he he was leaving and took his launch back to Helensville, hut became alarmed when Kavalinovich did not roach Helensville also. Lodge returned to the place where they had been fishing, hut there was no sign of his friend, Tho missing man’s launch was found drifting about 2\ miles from where its owner had been fishing the night before.
