SPANISH RELIEF CONCERT.
The State Theatre was filled to capacity on Sunday night and about 300 people were unable to gain admission to what was one of the finest concerts ever organised in this city—the Spanish Relief- Committee’s concert. The audience was fully appreciative of the high standard of the artists. One of the features was the appearance of Putt Mossman, the speedway rider, whose novelty item was well received. Mr Jack Wilson, recently returned from Australia, again demonstrated his ability as a comedian, ih company with Mr S. Toon. Godson’s Aces again demonstrated their popularity. Other contributors, all of whom received repeated encores, were: Miss Vining, songs; Miss Heggie, elocutionist; Messrs Bennett and Burt, instrumental items; Mr Spence Toon, songs; Mr J. McLeod, piano-accordeon solo; Mr Fred Gedson, Xylophone solos; Messrs Sundborn and Burke, guitar duet. Dr. Smith acknowledged the services of all who helped to make this concert such a success.
