WELLINGTON MARKET I-KICES. Prices of fruit, vegetables, and other produce on the Wellington markets' this week are quoted as follows: Passion fruit, 14s to 17s carton. Apples: New season’s Gravenstcins, 8s 6d to 12s bushel; cookers, 6s to 8s; Cox’s Orange, 7s to lfts; Worcesters, 5s to 6s; Jonathans, 6s to Bs. Pears: W.8.C., 9s to 11s 6d; threequarter ease; L.8.J., 7s to 9s. Quinces, 8s to 9s bushel. Greengages, 9s to 12s 6d half-case. Peaches: Dessert, 6s to 9s halfcase; cookers, 5s to 6s. Apricots, 6s to 8s; others, s 4 to 5s 6d. Nectarines, 5s to 7s 6d. Plums: Purple Kings, to 10s 6d; Burbanks, 6s to 9s; Blue Diamonds, 6s 6d to 7s 6d; Doris, 10s to 12s 6<l; Monarch, 5s 6d to 7s 6d. Raspberries, 7s 6d to 10s tin. Cucumbers, outside, 8s to 11s banana case. Lemons, 14s to 18s bushel; others, 6s to 10s. Kumcras, H. 8., 7s to 8s sugar bag. Green peas, 3s to 13s sack. Marrows, 6d to In case. Tomatoes: Local coloured, 6s to 7s 6d half-case; local ripe, 6s 6d to 11s; Nelson Red, 5s 6d to 6s 6d; coloured, 5s to 6s. Hothouse grapes, 9d to Is 2jd pound. Beans, Id to 3d pound. Pie melons,, 7s to 9s sack.
Potatoes, 5s to 8s cwt. Pumpkins, 2s 6d to 5s sack. Cauliflowers, 4s to 8s sack. Lettuce, 3d to Is banana case. Spinach, 2s 6d to 3s. Swedes, 2s to 3s 9d. Carrots, 2d to 5d bunch. Parsnips, 2d to 4d. Beetroot, Id to 2d. Cabbage, 6d to Is 6d banana ease. Onions, Pukckohe, 5s sugar bag. Rhubarb, 2s to 4s doz. bunches. Eggs, Is lOd to Is lid dozen.
Though there were occasional flashes of animation in the Taranaki live stock market last week few changes of consequence occurred. Ewe lambs, while keenly sought, showed a slight easing on earlier rates.. Store wethers remained firm and met free competition.' Fat wethers made 28s to 30s, and ewes 19s to 21s. Few weaner Jersey heifers ha.ve yet been marketed, but through private treaty many small i lines have changed hands at prices ranging from £2 10s to £3 10s. In most eases top cattle were sought and from £3 to £3 5s was the orddr for these. No alteration occurred in the fat cattle section.
