At Caulfield this morning Cuddle, moving freely, covered nine furlongs in 2min. 6lsec., Prince Quex beating Greenhorn over, ten furlongs in 2min. lO^sec. Beecliwood beat Humorist over six furlongs in lmin. 17sec. and Ajax wms not extended over six in lmin. 17sec. Master Motley did the fastest five furlongs in lmin. 2lsec. and Ena covered five in lmin. 2jsec., the last three in 37sec. Gold Rod looks well. Namakia and Pamelus worked freely in steady work. NEWMARKET ACCEPTORS. MELBOURNE, Feb. 23. Final acceptors for the Newmarket Handicap are: Regular Bachelor, Pamelus, Garrio, Plymouth Sound, Studio, Great Legend, Beecliwood, Aurie’s Star, Disalto, Evening Mist, Falstaff, Prince Sion, Kunuri, Three Lake, Country Party, Master Motley, Shanghai Lady. New Zealand acceptors for Mentone to-morrow are :—Newmarket Trial Stakes: Namakia. Lambourn Handicap, first division: Bertha B. Berkshire Mile: Limond Lad and Whernside. Cuddle’s near hind leg is causing her trainer, T. George, anxiety.
