WHEAT ACREAGE
INCREASE DESIRED. BY DOMINION COMMITTEE. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 23. The Wheat Committee met in Christchurch to-day and fixed the initial prices for buying for 1937 wheat. These prices are 7d a bushel above the initial buying prices paid last year. These prices will be subject to a further payment at the end of the season. The Wheat Committee that growers will increase their acreage for the coming year, and some scheme whereby these increased acreages will be sown is now under consideration by the committee. The Minister of Industries and Commerce hopes within the next day or .two to make a statement in regard to the whole question.
