MOTOR INSPECTIONS.
APPROVED GARAGES. Per Press Association. RANFURLY, Feb. 22. An announcement that all A grade garages had now been approved by him to conduct examinations of motor vehicles required by the new traffic regulations, was made in an interview to-night by the Minister of Transport (Hon. R. Semple). The Minister emphasised that, as all owners of ears, trucks, 'motor-cycles and other vechicles were required by law to carry warrants of fitness after March 31, it was in their own interests to present their vehicles for inspection as soon as possible. Mr Semple stated that all the approved A grade garages had been supplied with the necessary forms and were ready to start their inspections. All garages which were members _of the Garage Proprietors’ Association and did not hold an A grade certificate would require to be inspected by an officer of the Transport Department. This work was being pushed ahead. Several garages had been inspected already, and any others which desired to do testing work and had not yet submitted applications for inspection diould send in their applications together with the inspection fee of £1 to the Commissioner of Transport.
