TRENDS IN LONDON. Received February 22, 2 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 21. Not only the gilt-edged market, but many leading industrial issues, were neglected during the week. Many members of the City consider the falls were overdone in view of the continuance of expanding trade, but point out the extent of rising costs and the possible increase of taxation. The effect on industry varies with individual concerns. , , .. The market is at the moment all one way. The public sold gilt-edged industrial shares and tax-vulnerable securities like breweries, and bought arms and metal shares.
