BRITAIN AND GERMANY. Received February 20, 11.30 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 19. Travelling a.s “Air Smith,” the German Ambassador (Herr von ltibbentrop) is the guest of the Earl of Derby, with a number of Lancashire business men in Alancliestcr. Herr von Ribbentrop emphasised that his visit was private, but the Earl of Derby and the Mayor of Manchester led a informal discussion after dinner on trade between Germany and the North of England, as a result of which special sub-committees of the cotton and wool trades are meeting to consider an improvement.
