Mr and Mrs W. A. Lyon, of Woodville, liave staying with them Mrs G. Sidford, of Wellington, and Mrs Jordan, Sydney. Miss G. Robinson, of Wellington, and Mrs P. J. Perry, of Longford, Tasmania, are the guests of Mrs R. H. Rhodes, of Woodville. Mrs Perry has been paying a round of visits in New Zealand. Th resignation of Mrs H. 13. Bennett was accepted with regret at the February meeting of the Palmerston North branch of the Plunket Society, and it was decided to place on record appreciation of her services. Mrs E. M. Seward, president of the Ealing (London) Townswomen’s Guild, is a visitor to Palmerston North as the guest of the local Townswomen s Guild, having arrived in the city yesterday. She has been travelling through South Africa, Southern Rhodesia and Australia. Mrs Seward is actively interested in no fewer than 28 women’s organisations. Besides having organised for the Townswomen’s Guilds, she is particularly interested in the Electrical Association for Women. This is essentially a home movement, and aims at teaching women how to make the best use of the current. The founder of this association was Caroline Haslett, C.8.E., C.1.E.E., secretary of the Women's Engineering Society, and there are now close on ICO branches in England. Mrs Seward is a foundation member, and she is also a member of the London council.
