.(From Our Own Correspondent.) EKETAHUNA, Jan. 28. Misses M. and I. Southey have returned from a visit to Carterton. Mrs Sutherland, of Wellington, is the guest of her sister, Mrs H. M. Simpson, Kongokokako, Miss Madge Watson, of Dannevirke, has returned to her homo after visiting her uncle, Mr R. A. Watson, of Wi Waka. Over the wcok-end a team from the Kongokokako Tennis Club entertained the local club’s B team on the latter’s own courts, the country club proving the victors by 17 sets (124 games) to 7 sets (88 games). . , , , . Mr M. Priest has returned from a trip to Auckland. Mr E. Sctvabe has left for Dargavillc. The Tararua Rifle Chib’s third and final shoot for the irlcrcock Cup was won by J. P. Petersen, who put on a possible at 600 yards in a shoot-off with hvc others. The championship was won by P. Berry, J P. Petersen being runner-up. Mr and Mrs H. E. Rogers are on a vacation in New Plymouth. Miss Peggy Drysdalc and Miss E. Brcitmeycr are on a to Auckland. Mrs J. Drysdalc, Macara.' Street, is on a visit to Wellington. Mrs Harland is visiting her brother, Mr J. F. Baillie. Mrs Spicer, of Pulmcrston North, is the guest of her daughter, Mrs W. Simpson, Alfredton Road. Mr and Mrs E. S. Walker, of Wellington, are staying with Mr and Mrs W. Brannigan. Mr W. Brannigan has returned to ins home from the Pahiatua Hospital. At the week-end a local team paid a visit to the, Masterton Park Tennis Club. Tho visitors were defeated by 19 sets (175 games) to 5 sets (108 games). Miss Lula Mitchell, who has been staying with Mrs T. Priest, Putara, has returned to Wairoa. Mr R. Duncan, whilst tractor ploughing on Mr H. N. Kebbcll’s Nga Rata property, had a remarkable experience. Tho tractor failed to grip on a hillside and turned over and rolled down the hill for about 200 foot. The driver was thrown clear at about 50 foot, escaping being caught by the tractor, which parsed him in its descent. Miss Margaret Holms, of Wellington, is tho guest of Miss N. Drysdalo, Nircaha,. Mrs F. Hansen has returned from a holiday spent at Warkworth, North Auckland. Miss Joan Payne, of Wellington, has'been visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs R. Payne, of Nircaha. Messrs B. Drysdalo and Hood, Greytown, have been visitors to Mr J. Drysdalc, Rongokokako. Mr Eric Dumblcton, who has been holidaying with his parents, has returned to Auckland. Mr A. Butler lias left the district to take up his residence at AVairca. At the euchre party held in aid of the school jubilee funds, the prizewinners were Mrs R! Payne and Mr A. Fredrickson. Consolation prizes were awarded to Miss A. Schorman and Mr Roy Summerville.
