RAILING OF STOCK.

HEAVY TRAFFIC IN NORTH. WHANGAREI, Jan. 27. The Railway Department is havjng an exceptionally busy time in coping with the seasonal rush of stock traffic. It started last Thursday and will continue for about a week. Store sheep and lambs are being railed to the Waikato and fat sheep and lambs to Moerewa, Westfield and Southdown. On Tuesday 92 trucks were loaded in the Whangarei - Waiotira - Kirikopuni district and the activity continued on the same scale to-day. The department is experiencing the utmost difficulty in providing the proper class of wagon. In some cases cattle trucks and open wagons have had to be used. Engine power also is being taxed. Yesterday two special sheep trains left Whangarei for Moerewa and one left Waiotira for Auckland.
