HAWKE CUP.
FIRST CHALLENGE AT CHRIST-
MAS,
Commencing at 10.30 a.m. on December 25, the first challenge for this season for the Hawke Cup, and the ninth since Manawatu won the trophy from Taranaki in December 1934, will be played at the Sportsground. Wanganui, who so decisively dofeated Taranaki, were allotted the first challenge, and as it is many years since the senior representatives of Manawatu and Wanganui have met it will be interesting to see how the team which defeated Taranaki shapes aginst the cup-holders.
