WORKMAN INJURED.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 9. W. J. Lawrence, of Ngaio, an employee of the Wellington City Council, was working near an excavation for drainage purposes when the jib of if big shovel fell, striking him obliquely. Lawrence was taken to hospital in an unconscious state, and his condition is serious. He is a married man, with olio child.
