ALLEGED ASSAULT.
CASE FROM RONGOTEA. Charged with allegedly assaulting a sixteen-year-old girl at Rongotea on Monday evening, a man aged 26, whose name was suppressed by order of the Magistrate in the meantime, appeared before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. On the application of DetectiveSergeant Bickerdilce, accused was remanded to appear again on Friday. Bail was fixed in accused’s own recognisance of £2OO and one surety of £2OO, Mr Bickerdike stating that the charge was a serious one.
