(From Our Own Correspondent) OTAKI, Dec. 7. Visitors were present on tlio Otaki bowling green nt the week-end from Wellington, Khandalla.il. Porirua, Levin, and Shannon, when tournament games were indulged in. Shannon were announced as the winers. The carnival dance at To Horo on Saturday night was one of the most successful held there for some time. There was a large gathering including a number of pleasure-seekers from Otaki, and other places along the line. The shop day held in connection with the “Rangiatea” on Friday was very successful, and buyers were plentiful. A number of members of the Women’s Institute from Otaki and district journeyed to Wellington by the early train this morning to meet Mrs Alfred Watt, president of tho Associated Country Women of the World. A carrier pigeon has been found in Otaki, in an exhausted condition, The bird, with No. 58 on the ring, is receiving careful attention. A ring has also been found bearing the numbor ECFC 34-267. Thirty-six tons of iron have arrived in Otaki towards the erection of the overhead bridge near the railway crossing. The wedding took placo at the Wesley Church, Taranaki Street, Wellington, of Anzac, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. D. Cooksley, of Otaki, to Clifford, son of Mr and Mrs Richards, England. Rev. She wore a necklace and ear-rings of blue costal the gift of the bridegroom. The du.ies ot best man were carried out by Mr A. T yr'A'.T Wilson who celebrated her 80tb birthday last week, was tho rceinicnt of many congratulatory, messages, Mrs Vd=nn who is staying with her daughter, Mr Wnmock. at Oban, is enjoying good health. Mr A. Sathcrley is at nvesent in VGrv indifferent health,, and will shortly undevgo an X-ray examination.
