CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH.

Mr H. Sturge, chairman of the Congregational Union of New Zealand, who preached in the Emmanuel Congregational Church on Sunday, is a wellknown Christchurch businessman. He was selected at the last assembly at Dunodin and will hold office for the year 1936-37. During the course of his presidential tour, Mr Sturge lias travelled as far north as Maungaturoto, and as far south as Gore. He intimated that Christian work was flourishing in the Auckland province and that it greatly encouraged him. Mr Sturge was the guest of Mr and Mrs W. Martin, of Victoria Avenue, and is accompanied by his wife, who formerly resided in Palmerston North and who was delighted to renew old friendships. Mr Sturge proceeded to Wellington to-day.
