PAHIATUA, Dec. 5. The monthly meeting of the County Council was held to-day. It was decided to buy £5 worth of health stamps. It was reported that eleven cattle were impounded by the county ranger last month. It was decided that dog fees in the county should be tile same as last year. It was agreed to call tenders for grazing for the old horse paddock at Konini. The native hush is to ba preserved and a belt of trees is to be planted. The Showground paddocks, with the use of the buildings, are also to be leased. Hill is nearing completion, and a wash-out has been filled in the Alakuri Gorge. Puliiatua-Raihvay Station : Flood damage to shoulders has been repaired. Alakuri-Coonoor: AVidening at a dangerous bend on the Alangatoro Hill is proceeding. The crusher is being installed and crushing will commence at an early date. PahiatitaAlangaonc: AVidening work at the bill ft nas been completed and tile new

formation lias been metalled. A dangerous wash-out on the AVaitawa Hill has hefen filled. The road has been graded and 200 cubic yards of metal lias been utilised for surface repairs. Pah ALillev: General surface work lias been attended to. Tutaekara : All loose metal has been graded in and surface has been patched. Air Alacrae also repeated on the work in progress on the riding roads. Tar-sealing operations were commenced on ihe Newiuan-Eketahiuia main road on Friday last. This is the last length of tar-scaling between AA’oodville and A\ r ellington.
