SOCIAL FUNCTIONS.

TECHNICAL OLD STUDENTS. FINAL DANCE. The filial dance of the year. of the Technical School Old Students’ Association was held ill the Technical Hall, last night, and drew a very large attendance. The function was held in conjunction with the school exhibition, and proved a fitting- conclusion to a successful season. Featured in the decorations were many beautiful blooms of every hue and predominating were seasonal greetings created from masses of flowers.

The committee, who arc to be congratulated on the success of the function, consisted of Misses A. Clarke, who wore green cloque with organdie ; J. Barrie, prune crepe and silver lame; E. Hubbard, cyclamen crepe; M. Hancox, A. Trollope, Messrs L. and A. Barsanti, A. Costall, D. Mitchell and R. Wright. Dancing was enjoyed to music supplied by a professional orchestra. Among the many novelty dances was a special “False Alarm” dance staged by the “Fire Brigade.” Competition winners were Miss Kells and Mr Batchelor (Monte Carlo) and Miss E. Revere and partner (lucky spot). An amusing skit by Mr A. Barsanti and Mr A. Costall provided an interlude. Tlie supper arrangements were under the capable supervision of Mesdames A Beattie (convener), who chose black georgette and lace; J. Barsanti, dark red chenille velvet; T. Bragg, gold satin and lace. Mr J. Barsanti was the doorkeeper and Mr A. Costall carried out the duties of M.C. Ice-cream was provided during the evening.
