(From Our Own Correspondent.) EKETAHUNA, Nov. 26.

At the 31st annual meeting of the Eketahuna Building Society, Mr J. S. Tripe presided. The directors presented their report and accounts of tho group, which stated, inter aliaArrears of subscriptions have been reduced by £IOB 12s, but unfortunately the amount owing on loans has increased by £B6. .Of the total amount of redemptions in arrear, £395 10s is owed by three shareholders. Directors confidently expect this amount will bo reduced during the year. The total amount advanced to .members of the group during tho year is £2270 and the total amount advanced to date is £16,461 9s 3d. Tho profit and loss account disclosed a surplus of £4B 6s, which amount has been transferred to the profit reserve account, the credit balance of which is now £1683 2s 4d. Of the directors, Messrs A. Ross and T. Knight are not seeking re-election. The chairman reported that tho final payments had been made to members of group 1, and it was satisfactory to know that all the money advanced had been repaid without loss. Tho motion for adoption of the report was carried. The following were elected directors: Messrs J. S. Tripe, H. E. Greathead, R. Dickson, R. Farrow, D. Ryan. It was resolved that the society place on record its appreciation of the splendid services of the two retiring directors. Mr Bedding was re-elected auditor. The friends of Mra V. G. Wimsettwill bo glad to hear that she made a satisfactory recovery from her recent illness. Mrs Conahan, of Island Bay, Wellington, is staying with her daughter, Mrs Wim9ett. Mrs 11. Daniel, Newman Road, has returned from a fortnight’s holiday spent, with her father, Mr Loy, at Takapuna. Mrs S. Daniel is expected to return this week from a month’s holiday in . the Auckland district, where she has visited Mr and Mrs J. Daniel, of Penrose, and Mr and Mrs C. Crocker. Eketahuna friends will regret to hear of Mr Crocker’s sudden illness.
