BOY ELECTROCUTED

FAULTY EARTH WIRE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 20. Through grasping a faulty earth wire to a radio set while playing under a house at Manuknu Hoad, Jack Dormer, aged 10, son of Mr It. Dormer, of One Tree Hill, was electrocuted and died instantaneously.

Several, hoys were playing together when the accident occurred. Apparently deceased’s hand came in contact with the wire, as it bore signs of burning when he was dragged from beneath the house and examined by a doctor, who pronounced life extinct. In his opinion death was instantaneous. Officers of the Auckland Electric Power Board were summoned to inspect the wire, which was found to be charged with electricity. This is believed to have been due to a faulty connection in an adaptor feeding the radio set, which was also alive. The current was considered to be sufficient to cause electrocution.
