YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. Trading was again active on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday, a substantial turnover being recorded. Sales included a largo parcel of 31 per cent. Government stock, 1939-43 at £lO2 ss. The Woolworths isues wore heavily dealt in, 21 parcels, totalling 1440 shares, changing hands, and accounting for nearly onehalf of the 3040 shares recorded as sold yesterday. The :argo increase in the profits of Woolworths (N.Z.) and the announcement of a new share issue, sent tho pric-e of these shares up to £8 3s 6d, with later business at £8 Is.
