RURAL RAKINGS. Iligli prices wore paid at a sale of registered Clydesdale horses held at To Rapa on aooonnt of tlio trustees of the estate of the late Mr R. MeO. Thompson. Outstanding Scottish breeding was represented by some of the offering and the demand was brisk. Deed Carnoll. a. two-year-old brown filly bred in Scotland, was purchased bv Mr G. Wheatley for 320 guineas, while an eight-year-old bay marc. Gip=v Panehakna. with foal at foot, went to Mr P. C. Belton, of Woodville, for 160 guineas. With a spring almost perfect for dairying, reports in the Temuka district show that up till now the season is easily a record, and the outlook for the rest of the year at present appears very bright. Mr B. Hughes, secretary to a number of dairy companies in the district, said the increase in the production of milk and cream was, taken all round, approximately 30 per cent, compared with the same period last year. p The buying of New Zealand stud .sheep for South America is the object of the visit to this Dominion of Mr A. A. -Cameron, of Buenos Aires, who recently spent several days in Temuka. Mr Cameron formerly lived in Southland, but is now a well-known sheep farmer in South America.
