(By “Moturoa.”) Yesterday’s heavy rain left the Awapuni tracks this morning dead for the final gallops of local horses engaged at Feuding on Saturday, the outside of the course proper being several seconds slower than was the case on Tuesday morning. There wero some interesting trials, however, the best gallops of the morning being executed by Cloudy Bay, Corroboree, Wildflower, Patter, and Happy Hunting. The Lackham —Tallulah colt Orient Dawn (Chaplin) conceded Party (Mansfield) a start from the threo furlongs, but the latter was chocked and the pair ran up the straight together, Orient Dawn’s time for the distance being 41 l-ssec. Ingenuity (Tattersall) did a mile and aquarter of strong paccwork, quickening towards the end to run her last half-mile in .53 2-ssec, the final two furlongs in 25 4-5 sec. Ingenuity was going particularly well at the finish.

Limbohm, ridden by his owner-trainer Mr A. J. Toxward, trotted a couple of rounds on the inside grass. Ho looks bright to begin a preparation for the summer meetings, but ho is carrying too much condition at present to be quite ready for Feilding. Gold Nymph worked strongly on the sand. Hot Shot (Tattersall) camo home the last two of three furlongs comfortably in 28 2-5 see.

HUNTING LODGE WORKS FREELY. Hunting Lodge (Anderson), after running her first threo furlongs in 39jsec, was not bustled in the concluding stages of her six furlongs gallop which occupied 1.21 3-5. She worked well and appears to have made a complete recovery from the injuries she received at Levin. Happy Hunting (Pine), working with her usual dash, went evenly over six furlongs in 1.20 2-5. It is a pity 3he will not reproduce her track form on race days. Round Score (Anderson) came home well in the straight to just head Severe .(Broughton) at the end of seven furlongs in 1.36, the last six in 1.21 2-5. Round Score looks well enough, but hi 3 form is hard to understand.

Aurora’s Love (Feascy) ran an easy five furlongs in 1.9 2-5 and was going comfortably all the way. Gay Molly (Pine) was Beau Lac (Tattersail) skipped in irom the three furlongs in 40sec, both hitting out woll in the straight. Padnos did strong pacework, hitting out well. Black Thread bowled along nicely on the inside grass. He is not engaged at Feilding until Monday and will probably sprint on Saturday morning. . Laggard (Tattersall) and Gainsay (Brown) appeared to be going well within themselves over a mile in 1.53 4-5, the last three furlongs in 41 2-ssec. Le Touquet (Anderson) ran an easy seven furlongs in 1.39 1-5. Cloudy Bay (Mansfield) and Dungarvan (Broughton) jumped away together from the seven furlongs peg, but Cloudy Bay quickly ran to the front to run her first half mile in 52sec, and her first fivo furlongs in 1.5 i. She was five lengths clear at this stage and was not bustled to finish four lengths ahead of Dungarvan in 1.33 3-5 for the full distance. Dungarvan is a lazy track worker, but he pulled up well.

MIRTH IN GALLOPING MOOD. Mirth (Tattersall) was caught in a galloping- mood this morning and Lavish (Anderson) was no use to her over seven furlongs run in 1.35 2-5, the former finishing well clear.. Both are very disappointing performers. Finnesko, who looks a picture just now, hit out bodly on the plough. Limbohm (Broughton) made a second appearance on the tracks, completing his six furlongs of pacework by running home the last three in 42 3-ssec. He seemed to be going comfortably at the finish. Taumau (Pine) was under strong restraint to keep with Evermore (Brown), the ,pair finishing clear of Tangled (McDowell) at the end of seven furlongs in 1.38 2-5, after the first half-mile had ben run in 54 Lady Ina did an easy five furlongs. She looks very well. Old Surrey (Anderson) was not bustled to run his six fgurlongs in 1.23 3-5, the first three in 41 4-ssec. Wildflower (Broughton) impressed by the manner in which she drew away from Tipsy Miss (Tattersall) in the concluding stages of their five furlongs gallop in the smart time of 1.7 1-5. They were not gomg over fast in the early stages, taking 40 sec, for the first three, but they came home very solidly. Black Fox (Scobie) did strong three-quar-ter pacework, sprinting up the straight. Corroboree (Chisholm) impressed by the way he ran over seven furlongs in 1.33 3-5, the" first half mile in 52 3-ssec. Corroboree was going particularly well at the finish and, while his chances on Monday cannot be denied, a longer straight like Woodviile or Trentharn would suit him better. Pater (Scobie), after taking 40 l-ssec for her first three furlongs, encompassed five furlongs in 1.7 and appeared to have something in hand at the finish. Syincony, who rejoined W. Pine’s team yesterday, did easy pacework on the plough. She is very light, in condition and on her toes, and her chances of being ready for Woodviile next month look far from bright. Martara and Vonia Park were not worked before breakfast this morning. The Martarma three-year-old, who is well, may be relieved of his engagement at Feilding on Saturday and kept for the long' races at tho Woodviile meeting. Pango (McDowell), who has recently been recommissioned, schooled attractively over a couple of hurdles yesterday morning.

Oriwai, who has been showing signs of soreness since making an attractive debut at Bulls, has been physicked and is an unlikely starter at Feilding on Saturday. WORK AT ELLERSLIE. KELLY’S GOOD DISPLAY. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 26. The courso proper, with poles 45ft out, was available for the final gallops at Ellcrslic this morning in connection with tho Takapuna meeting, which opens there on Saturday. The going was in first-class order, and several smart efforts were rocordod, tho best being those of Kelly, Mazir, Royal Appellant, Prince Von, and the course proper Speed did half a mile in 53 l-ssec. High Star covered the same distance in 52scc. . . . . - Kilonsa did five furlongs m 1.4 4-5, a useful effort, and she could have done b Fleet wind finished in , front of Hunting j More after half a miJe in 51 '3-sscc. the last seven furlongs taking 1.32 4-5. Kelly, accompanied by Jybalt, ran the fastest seven furlongs of the morning m 1.31. Kelly’s effort was impressive. ' Ilorowhcnua covered half a mile in o c* sec, running on solidly. Mazir wa* in front of Mungatoon alter seven furlongs in 1.31 3-5. Mazir covered a bit of extra ground and worked in good style. Yalspcitr and Student Prince did five furlongs in 1.4 2-5. Royal Appellant was holding Guy Broncy (McTavish) at’ the end of six furlongs in 1.18 3-5. This time was not bettered during the morning. . Master Briefly and Round Up ran a similar distance in 1.21 4-5. Prince Ven hit out freely over five furlongs in 1.3 3-sscc, a good, effort, but ho was making a distinct noise at the finish. Big Dook and Hunter’s Morn covered a similar distance in 1.3 4-5. After breakfast, Lorita, Solo Song, and 1 Lady Gaiiiscourt ran half a mile in 53 , 15 Shin°ing Spear, Gigantic, and Ail Irish I finished as named after a mile m 1.46 4-5, a useful work-out. Other horses to do useful tasks were Backbloek, tho Hoarjri filly, Chief Emerald Amiacourt, Lucidus, and Scotland.
