’PLANES FOR AMERICA.
Received November 20, 2 p.m. AVASHINGTON, Nov. 19. The Government has announced a contract to purchase 120 of the new type, of observation ’planes costing 3,429,000 dollars from the North American Aviation Company, California, practically completing the army’s purchase programme under the 1936-37 Budget. The department is now receiving ’plane deliveries at the rate of two a day, and at the close of the fiscal year will have 500 or 600 of the highest efficiency machines.
