WOODVILLE MEETING. CLOSING OF. NOMINATIONS. Nominations for all events at-the AVoodville Jockey Club’s spring meeting at Woodville on December 10 and 12 close with the secretary, Mr \V. A. Lyons, Woodville, at 8 p.rn. on Monday next (November 23). This is ono of the most papular meetings on the circuit and should attract the keenest interest of owners and trainers in view of the larger meetings ahead.

The L.M.S. Railway’s locomotive Patriot, which was named in honour of the 3719 employees of the London and North-Western Railway who were killed in the War, has been withdrawn from service, but the company have j decided to perpetuate the name of this engine by transferring it to a mod- J ern type of locomotive.
