(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAICI, Oct. 14.

Miss Ruby Ilakaraia, who has been a patient at the Otaki Sanatorium for several months, will shortly enter tho Palmerston North Hospital to undergo an operation. A Quiet wedding took place at. “Rangiatea,” Utaki, on Monday, when Mr R. Ropata, the well-known footballer, was married to Miss Tui Jenkins, youngest daughter of Mr Paul Jenkins, of \\ aikanae. A number of friends assembled to .witness the ceremony, which was perform ed by Rev. l’aeora Temucra. Mr Fred Jenkins gave the bride away, while Mr L Barrett was best man, Mr G. Ropata groomsman, and Mrs Barrett matron of honour The bride, who was nicely attired in a brown costume, was, with the bridegroom, the recipient of hearty congratulations from their many friends. Two painful accidents occurred at tllP week-end. Mr Lionel Cooksley had the misfortune to severely crush a hand, while Mr W. Bailey, while chopping wood, received a nasty gash oil the hand, necessitating stitching.
