Tlis Lordship the Bishop of Wellington (Dr. St. Barbe Holland) will visit All Saints’ Church, Palmerston North, on October 29.
Mr L. Webster, who has ibeen the manager of the Newmati cheese factory for a number of years, has been appointed to the staff of the Dairy Division. He will be stationed at Palmerston North.
Rev. M. A. Sullivan, M.A., vicar of St. Columba’s Church. Grev Lynn, Auckland, has been appointed vicar of Te Awamutu in the Waikato diocese. He was previously assistant curate at St. Matthew’s, Auckland. Mr L. Young, recently of the staff at Messrs Collitison and Cunningliame’s, Ltd., Palmerston North, has been appointed manager of the drapery department of a Wairarapa firm’s branch at Eketahuna.
Mr W. J. Berry, home missionary of the Presbyterian Church in the Palmerston North outfields, is being transferred to Upper Aramoho, Wanganui, and will be succeeded here by Mr H. J. Crawford, student in charge at Hunua.
Mr C. S. Williams, F.R.C.S.E., leaves on October 27 for San Francisco and New York, after which he will proceed to the Mayo Clinic at Rochester. He will then visit various centres in the United States before returning home via Vancouver, to arrive in New Zealand again about March. The dedication of a brass tablet in memory of the late Mr F. H. Owtram took place during Evensong at All Saints’ Church, last evening, the ceremony being performed by Canon G. i\ Woodward, while the congregation stood in silence. The tablet was provided by the two sisters of Mr Owtram, who died on May 8 last, after being for forty years a parishioner of All Saints. He was a vestryman and one of the founders of the Children’s Homo.
