FROZEN MEAT.

LAMB UNCHANGED. CHILLED BEEF FIRMER. The lamb market is steady and unchanged. Mutton market: Wethers, markot steady and unchanged. Ewes, firm with prices of lightweights slightly better. Beef market: Frozen beef markot quiet and unchanged. Chilled beef firm with fores at slightly higher prices. New Zealand porker pigs: Meeting with good trade at tho unchanged prices. New Zealand baconor pigs: Nominal; stocks short.

The above report was received on Saturday by the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board from its London office, which advises that tho following are the approximate average prices realised for the week, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the description? of meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods ocoring during tho week, being for business dono on the basis of delivered to Smithfield markot and/or ox London stores. Prices for the two previous weeks arc also shown: —

New Zealand sheep.—Canterbury ana North Island selected crossbred wethers and maiden ewes: 481 b and under, 53d (same); 4811) to 561 b, 4jd (same); 571 b to 641 b, 4jd (same); 651 b to 721 b, 4§d (same). North Island: 481 b to 561 b, 4Jd (same); 571 b to 64 lb, 4Jd (same); 65|b to 721 b, 4jjd (same). Ewes: 481 b and under, 4£d (4Jd, 4gd); 481 b to 641 b, 4d (same); 651 b to 721 b, 3gd (same). The Bank of New Zealand’s produce department has received the louowmg advice from its London offices as at the close of business last week: —trade in wethers is slow. There is a fair demand for owes, Tho market for lambs is quiet but firm. The damund lor chilled beef is rather easier. Trade generally is slow. Wethers: Light, 4 5-bd to si,d per lb; heavy, 3 7-8 d to tjd. Ewes, 3jd to 4 3-3 d. Lambs: 2’s, 73d to 7 3-8 d; its, 73d to 73d; 4’s, 6id to 6 5-8 d; seconds, b 7-tSd to 73d. Chilled hinds, 53d to 53d; chilled fores, 23d to 3d.
