TAIKOREA.

A spell of spring-like weather has come as a decidedly welcome change. The wanner days have had a benoliciul effect on the milk supply ' and the laikorea Dairy Company is now running three vats. A very pleasant little tunctiou was held at the school, when parents and children gathered to hid farewell to Mr and Mrs jtlogers, who are leaving for Colyton. Afternoon tea was served on the lawn. Mrs J. Ilehir, president of tho I.adics Basketball Club, presented Mrs Rogers with a handsome dressing table set, the gilt of the team. Mrs Rogers has been of much assistance to the club, and often played at great inconvenience to horse.fReplying, Mrs Rogers said she bad thoroughly enjoyed playing and was very glad to think she had been of help. She thanked the girls for their gift. Mrs Rogers also received a handsome crystal vase from tho Women’s Institute, and her small daughter a large play-hall, also the gift of the institute. Joyce Fichire, on behalf of tho school children, presented to Mr Rogers an oak lea-waggon and a breakfast cloth. Mr Rogers expressed regret at leaving Tnikorea, especially the children, with whom he had spent many pleasant hours. 110 congratulated tho school basketball team on the manner in which they had played, going out cheerfully each week to bo beaten by large margins, only to take the field as cheerfully for the next game. On Wednesday the Taikorea scholars had a holiday, tho school being closed to allow Mr Rogers to vacate, and Miss Wills, the incoming teacher, to tuke up her residence.
