TAXI COMMISSION
CHRISTCHURCH CONDITIONS. CONFERENCES PLANNED. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. .1. The Taxi Commission heard further evidence to-day, when the chairman (Mr P. M. Butler) suggested that a solution of the working difficulties might be reached by a conference of interested parties. The representatives of all organisations agreed with the exception of Mr C. S. Trillo, who said it did uot seem possible. Later a conference was held, attended by Mr Trillo. and the announcement was made that, a further conference would be held to-morrow to prepare a scheme under which the taxi business would be conducted until the commission’s findings became operative. This decision was made possible by the unconditional agreement of Mr Trillo to change immediately from the commission system to wages.
