HOCKEY COMMUNITY SING.
The interest taken in the visit of the groat Australian comedian and song leader, Vincent Ryan, has been evinced by the exceptionally heavy booking for the Opera Houso on Monday night. To cope with the situation and to save disappointment to as many patrons as possible, the Jloekey Association has arranged with Iho Boxing and Wrestling Associations for Iho use of their ringside seats, which can now be booked. This sing, which promises to ho the. greatest ever held in Palmerston North, is being broadcast by 2ZO, but while it is will bo worth listening to over tho air, it will not be nearly so good ns seeing the great comedian on the stugc. It is what ho docs and not what he says that brings tho house down. All simply must sco him to fully apprcciato the personality of the man. The supporting programme is also well worth seeing and hearing—Mis* Doris Moore, contralto; Miss Gwen Gibbs’s pupils, Miss .jean Scott’s pupils, Air Alan Sundhorn, Spanish guitar; Mr Georgo Adams, lightning sketch artist; arid Messrs Burke and Bennett, pinno-accordeoris.
