(From Our Own Correspondent.) SAX’SON, Sept. 30.
In view of hie departure at an early date, Mr R. W. Weston, the assistant postmaster, was tendered a farewell function in tho Town Hall on Alondav evening by telephone subscribers and friends. Air A. K. Drew, in presenting Air Weston with a leather suitcase, referred to the recipient’s many fine qualities. He assured Air Weston that all appreciated tho many courtesies ho had extended subscribers during his short stay in Sanson, and concluded by wishing him every success. Air K. AL Pearce, on behalf of the country subscribers, endorsed Air Drew’s remarks. Musical honours were accorded the guest. Supper was provided by the ladies, after which Air Weston rendered two pianoforto solos, his own compositions. The 24th weekly shoot of the Miniaturo Rifio Club was held on Tuesday evening. Tho standard of shooting was very good, the top eight men recording tho fine total of 1100. A visitor, Mr G. Richardson, was welcomed to the club and he recorded the fine total of 135. Tho buttons for the individual shooting were won as follow: —A grade, Ken Lumsdcn; B grade, A. Stevenson; G grade, If. Henson. Scores were :—Ken Lumsdcn, 69—70 —139; Keith Lumsdcn, 70—68—138; P.
