FORTY-HOUR WEEK.
SYDNEY COUNTY COUNCIL. SYDNEY, Oct. 1. By three votes to two, the Sydney County Council approved the principle of the 40-hour week throughout its service. It is estimated this will provide employment for an extra 170 persons, and mean an extra cost of £44,500.
