BRITISH PRECAUTIONS. PRIVATE SHELTERS. SUGGESTIONS TO PUBLIC, ("United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received October 1, 11.35 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 30. The Government is sending out to every householder a book on air raid and gas dangers, with a suggestion that a retuge in their own homes be provided. Factories and shops are advised to make similar provision. An official stated that public shelters are only for those caught in the streets. There is intention to have public bomb-proof shelters requiring a concrete root 10ft thick, alternatively built 75ft underground.
