CONDITION SERIOUS. Received October 1, 11.30 a.m, SYDNEY, Oct. 1. Advice has been received from Salapiaua (New Guinea) that Assistant-Dis-trict Officer Nurton, who was injured in an attack by natives, lias had his leg amputated. His condition is serious.
