JERSEY CATTLE.

MANAWATU SHOW AND SALE. AWARDS ANNOUNCED. The fourteenth Manawatu Jersey Show and sale of bulls and heifers, under the auspices of the combined Jersey Cattle Breeders’ Clubs, was held at the Manawatu A. and P. Association’s Showground to-day. There was a large attendance of exhibitors and buyers, the catalogue consisting of 93 bead of cattle. Each year a meeting is held to decide selling conditions which will improve the standard of the sale and maintain its popularity with buyers. The condition of accepting only bulls eligible for calf marking was appreciated by buyers last year and was rigidly .enforced this year.. The judging was carried out prior to the sale and the following were the awards: — Two-year-olds and over.—A. Horn s Hui Mai Field Marshal 1, W. Ansin’s Tararua Boss Boy 2, Miss M. Roots’s Elmslie Belle’s Ideal 3. Yearlings (class 1). —S. W. Ingram s Mazoe Monkey I, P. A. Anderson’s Tararua Bombardier 2, F. Y. Bryant and Son’s Jersey Glen Starhright 3. Yearlings (class 2). —Miss M. Root’s Elmslie Bonny Owl 1, F. C. Ross and Sons’ Wattle’s Premier 2, C. Kirkley’s Wilfred and Mann 3. Yearling heifers.—P. A. Anderson,’s stock secured all the honours, Tararua Charmaine, Tararua Gipsy Girl and Tararua Cliarmaine gaining the awards in that order. Grand champion.—A. Horn’s Huia Mai Field Marshal. Reserve champion. —S. W. Ingram's Mazoe Monkey.
