A most pleasant afternoon was spent on Tuesday at the Hiwinui School to bid farewell to the teacher, Aliss AViils, who has left to take up duties at Ta.ikorea. Aluch enjoyed were musical items by the children. At a suitable interval little Phyllis Lassen presented Aliss AA’ills with a beautiful posy made by Airs Hall. Air Henaghan, on behalf of the parents, asked Aliss AV ills to accept a tea set. He stressed the loss her departure meant to the school and how sorry the children were to lose her. The recipient was accorded musical honours. Aliss AVilb. in replying, thanked all for the present and said how attached she was to the children. The ladies eerved afternoon tea and the afternoon wias brought to a. close with the singing of the National Anthem.
