CRICKET.
KIA TOA CLUB PREPARES. The annual meeting of the Kia Toa Cricket Club was lielu on Tuesday, Dir G. Farrar presiding over an attendance of 25 members. The report (already published) and balance-sheet were adopted on the motion of the chairman, who commented very favourably on the past season’s activities. Eleven new members were elected. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as tollow :—Patron, Mr H. It. Crawlord; president, Dlr G. Farrar; vice-presidents, fourteen were elected; secretary-treasurer, Dlr YV. Mitchell; club captain, Dir T. Jordan; auditor and gear steward, Dir J. Croll; management committee, Messrs Piercy, Croll, Morgan, and Heatley. with power to add two playing members; coach, Dir T. Jordan; delegate to Manawatu Association, Dlr J. Croll.
It was decided to enter two teams for the competitions. The gear steward reported on the condition of the gear, and was appointed with the club captain and Dir Piercy to go into the question of purchasing additional equipment.
