FRIENDLY SOCIETIES
ACORN LODGE OF DRUIDS. The regular meeting of the Acorn Lodge of Druids was bold in the Coronation Hall. The Arch Druid presided over a very good attendance of members and visitors. D.P. Bio. Drake paid an official visit and installed Bro. Anderson as V.A.B. P.G.P. Bro. Jackson and P.D.P. Bro. Elsmore, with other visitors, were welcomed by the lodge and returned thanks for their cordial reception. A challenge was received from the Oroua Lodge for the inter-lodge bowls tournament, also from the Lind Lodge for the euchre shield. P.A. Bro. Ilansen reported attending the Dispensary Board, Bro. Bailey on bowls, and Bro. Capped on attending Oroua Lodge. The question of a change of date for the usual meeting was brought up and it was decided that a special summons meeting he called, the date to bhe advertised. A discussion took place with reference lo the time allowed for visiting the Hospital, especially the children's’ ward, also charges made to outpatients as members of the Hospital Association. The matter was left.in the hands of the delegates to the Friendly Societies’ Council to arrange. Supper was served by the stewards and games of cards and bowls terminated the evening.
