RETURN TO SURFACE. LONDON, Sept. 14. The Blnntyre ‘'stay-in” strikers returned to tile surface yesterday and were greeted with cheers hv 5000 sympathisers, who walked to toe pit gates and carried them home shoulder-high. The men stated that they were forced to surrender owing to the failure of the pit lights. 4 hey maintained their spirits underground by singing to the accompaniment of a tincan band.
