GIBRALTAR INCIDENT.
DISORDERLY DEMONSTRATION. GIBRALTAR, Sept. 14. The authorities’ sudden decision to close a refugee camp accommodating 800 British men, women, and children led to a disorderly demonstration following a quiet procession, which included women banner-bearers demanding the 1 rights of British subjects. Police shepherded the procession to the police station as it moved toward Government House and arrested several persons.’ The remainder volunteered to accompany them to gaol. The police then made a baton charge, injured several, and dispersed the remainder, but subsequently groups excitedlv paraded the streets. Police are guarding Government House. Apparently the refugees, carrying their belongings, must spend the night in the streets. Further disturbances are feared.
