DAYLIGHT THEFT.
DAFFODIL BULBS REMOVED. HAMILTON, Sept. 12. While Air H. M. Hammond, a wellknown Hamilton daffodil enthusiast and vice-president of the National Daffodil Society, was visiting Auckland for the National Show yesterday, thieves entered his residence at Claudelands in broad daylight, and removed ten or twelve dozen valuable bulbs. It was the fourth time the garden had been robbed in the last ten days. Included in the stolen property were prize collections ranked among tlje best in the Dominion. In commenting on the matter. Air A. AY. Ward, president of the Hamilton Horticulture Society, said lie could not understand the mentality of persons who despoiled gardens. Recently thousands of bulbs were stolen from the lake reserve.
